Today’s political and social realities are putting an increasingly intense spotlight on police performance in the field, particularly relating to use-of-force decisions and de-escalation. In addition, policing roles have been rapidly evolving to include new threats to officer and public safety in the form of terrorism and escalating school and community violence.
